What can I say ... I took 7 rolls of film in 5 days and have come up with some pretty gorgeous photos. We're not
likely to forget the trip any time soon and we always have the pictures to remind us! [Take a look at Mary’s panaromic photo of Cowpet Bay. It’s fantastic.] After visiting your web site, I felt right at home walking into the condo. It's as lovely as it appears in the photos. Well, actually, the view from the balcony is even better in person.
The arrangement of the place worked well with two couples and the actual location (away from Charlotte Amalie) was great. The
Ritz Carlton next door proved to be a scenic place to do our walking every day. Everything seemed to be in working order and well taken care of. Having the laundry facilities was also convenient. And we
"borrowed" your insulated bag for packing our lunch on a day trip to St. John. We didn't eat in much, but when we did, we found everything we needed in the kitchen.
We really did have a wonderful time. The proximity of the market and the quality of the local restaurants were pluses. One night we ate at the Frigate and the tuna teriyaki was outstanding. We had dinner at Eunice's one evening which was a trip in itself! The food was quite good and the waitress was a hoot. The "entertainment" (a one-man steel pan band with electronic synthesizer that he never could quite keep up with -- as well as a tall semi-drunk off-key guitar player) was something we will laugh about for months to come. We had lunch at the Blue Moon Cafe on the way out and that was delightful. During one of our road trips around the island we found the St. Thomas Dairy "Udder Delight" snack bar where we purchased excellent island milkshakes (each of which contained a full jigger of liquor). Highly recommended! We took the cruise to Virgin Gorda and lucked out with a great crew and friendly passengers. Lunch at Cooper Island was also quite good. We did Coral World one day, visited Drake's Seat and Mountaintop and also ferried the car across to St. John for a day. Stopped at the Shipwreck Cafe for some neat tropical drinks and drove all the way out to the East End, where we got some wonderful pictures. The weather was great, but then I would imagine it is most of the time except during hurricane season.
Thanks again for your hospitality and I would expect that you will hear from us again one of these days when we are ready to
return. We will certainly recommend PalmVilla to any friends or acquaintances who might wish to make a trip to St. Thomas. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!
