We’ll start with coffee on the gallery, and watch the sailors leave
for a day’s races.
Then drive to Red Hook to board the 10:00 AM ferry to St. John. It’s a breezy 15-minute ride to Cruz Bay. Rather than grab a taxi, we’ll stroll to Mongoose Junction and order fresh-baked bread and imported hams and cheeses from the bakery. We’ll throw a few beers in our cooler [and some soft drinks and water!], walk outside and hail a cab. We’ve waited as long as 30 seconds. After a spectacular drive -- alas only 10 minutes or so -- we arrive at Trunk Bay, one of the world’s ten most spectacular beaches. We’ll picnic, swim, snorkel and sun.
At four, we’ll head back home in time for cocktails on the gallery
... and to watch the sailors come home at sunset.
